Introducing our team!
Dr. Oakley founded the Wellness Centre in 2004. Dr. Oakley is interested in optimizing health and longevity and continually searches for better ways to enhance the health and wellbeing of his patients. This passion is shown by the incorporation of top technologies including the use of PowerPlate®, TRX®, Digital X-ray, and the PostureRay® X-ray analysis system to the facility. To further help those in need to better their health, he will begin personal health coaching and is currently working toward completing his ‘Shotgun to Health’ book series.
Dr. Oakley has published many scientific papers and book chapters on various health topics such as posture, Chiropractic Biophysics, scoliosis, diabetes, Vitamin D, ergonomics and biomechanics and has presented these works to prestigious scientific conferences including: the World Federation of Chiropractic, the International Society of Biomechanics, North American Conference on Biomechanics, the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, the Association of Chiropractic Colleges, and the Canadian Society of Biomechanics.
He is advanced certified and is also an instructor for CBP technique, often traveling to teach other chiropractors how to practice the most evidence-based spinal correcting techniques. Dr. Oakley participated in the creation of chiropractic guidelines for both the practice of chiropractic as well as for the use of x-ray for the profession.
He is also an avid sports enthusiast, being a goalie for the Innovative hockey team as well as a recreational triathlete. He is also an ‘Ironman,’ completing the Whistler, BC ultimate triathlon in 2014.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Laurentian University, Sudbury, Ontario, a Master’s of Science degree from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa. He interned at Drs. Deed & Shirlene Harrison’s CBP clinic upon graduation in Elko, Nevada.

Dr. Maryam completed her studies in Bachelor of Science Biology program at McMaster University before attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. After graduation, she moved to United Kingdom and worked as a Naturopathic Doctor for 5 years where she helped many people with various health concerns. She also served as a supervisor assistant in the Acupuncture clinic within the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
Dr. Maryam can help you with many health complaints and can teach you how to live a healthy lifestyle. She gathered much experience over the last few years in assisting patients to lose weight, decrease pains and improve wellness. She has also published an article on arthritis treatment in one of the UK’s health magazines.
In addition, she also offers natural anti-aging treatments such as facial rejuvenation acupuncture and facial rejuvenation massage which has a dramatic effect on skin health specially in wrinkle reduction and scar healing.
Dr. Maryam is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario. She is a member of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
Noshin is thrilled to be back with Innovative! She specializes in deep tissue treatment and healing with use of laser and shockwave therapy.
Registered Massage Therapist
Melissa is a two-time college graduate from Georgian College. She graduated from dental assisting in 2007 and more recently has just finalized a massage therapy diploma where she graduated with honors. Melissa’s passion has always been in healthcare, sports, fitness and exercise where she has taken additional courses in personal training and TRX home suspension training.
Melissa is an avid hockey player and golfer. She also has a love for all animals and owns a Great Dane named Jojo!

Maggie is enjoying helping people to feel better. The best reward Maggie had since become a RMT is the client told her “I live a better life after getting treatments from you.” Maggie is very happy to work with the innovative Spine and Wellness team and looking forward to helping all clients reach their wellbeing goals.
Maggie received her Massage Therapy Diploma from Sutherland-Chan School in Toronto, where she had the opportunity to treat a variety of people including those undergoing cancer treatment, pregnant women, athletes, and people who have suffered spinal cord injuries.
In her spare time, Maggie enjoys reading.
Working in all areas of the fitness the wellness industry, Chris united his fifteen years of experience into the most effective and powerful blend of body therapy and fitness coaching as ‘SomaFit Wellness.’ He is a CPTN Certified Personal Trainer, a CPAFLA SCEP Fitness Assessor, a CHEK Practitioner 1, a Holistic Lifestyle Coach and has a diploma in osteopathic Applied Soma Training through Guy Voyer, DO.
Trainer Chris has helped people improve the quality of their life, lessened their pains, and/or helped enhanced their athletic performance. He has been studying a European advanced style of training called Somatotherapy (European Osteopathy school), under founder and world renown French Osteopath, Guy Voyer, DO. He has studied with him in Montreal with other high level trainers who train celebrity athletes that demand results. Anyone can achieve astounding results utilizing Somatotherapy techniques such as ELDOA, MFS, GPS, 2TLS and joint pumping release. Chris is truly apart of an elite group worldwide qualified to implement these tools to help you.
At the age of 4, Chris was skating at the prestigious Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club that included young Elvis Stojko. He was lucky enough to work with the best coaches and skaters in Canada. He was introduced to off-ice strength and conditioning and then began coaching and assisting as well as performing and competing in skating, tennis and track. Chris is excited to be apart of the team at Innovative Spine & Wellness, where he is able to combine all his expertise and provide manual body therapy, personal training, holistic nutrition, lifestyle support and specialized fitness classes to help you achieve your goals.
Danicia is thrilled to become the wellness director at Innovative Spine & Wellness! She is responsible for helping you find the services that will best help you achieve your personal health goals.

Diane joined the team at Innovative Spine and Wellness in September 2015 and is the main rehab assistant. After 14 years working behind a desk she decided to do something different, lucky for us! She enjoys helping people and making people feel comfortable while in the clinic with a smile on her face.
In her spare time she loves to cook, read, play baseball, snowboard and spend time with her family either at the lake swimming or on the trails atv-ing.
Shay is a third year student attending Western University in London, Ontario. She is working towards a BA in MIT (Media, Information, Technoculture) and has always enjoyed helping people. Chiro has been a big part of her life and it has helped changed her life for the better and she wants to share her experience with others to help them improve their lives as well.
Some of her hobbies include playing volleyball, working out, fashion, and expressing her creativity through anything she puts her mind to.
Autumn is a second year student attending Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo Ontario. She is currently enrolled in Laurier’s Archaeology program and working towards obtaining a B.A. Autumn enjoys being involved in her community by participating in events and educating others on the services our wellness centre provides.
Some of Autumn’s interests and hobbies include spending time with her friends and family, working out and staying active, playing flag football, and online shopping.
